Nissan Note Ghost Train, survey done using Enwaii

The Nissan Note Ghost Train commercial serie, directed by Carl Erik Rinsch, highlight the safety shield technology embedded in the new Nissan Note.

In order to do so, the Nissan Note driver is shown facing several unexpected events on the road, which is depicted as a futuristic ghost train. Thanks to the safety shield technology, these events do not really surprise him and he keeps both the excitement of driving and the situation under control at all times.

The VFX studios involved in the commercial were Mikros Image and Eight VFX. These two studios having a long history of sharing projects, they know how to collaborate efficiently.

The main vendor for this show was Mikros Image who relied on Eight VFX for concept and design, environment modeling and survey of the hangar and the tunnel where the shooting took place. The surveys were done using the photogrammetry capabilities of Enwasculpt, the Maya embedded module of the Enwaii pipeline in charge of camera calibration and image based modeling. The purpose of the surveys were to help the matchmove artists with a solid reference for their task.
